A few months ago I decided to take the plunge into the world of VoIP. Being an Asterisk newbie, I figured I'd take the easy route and go with Asterisk@Home (now trixbox). I also happen to be a Xen fanatic, though, and I absolutely had to have Asterisk running in a Xen domU.

(Read on for more info and a domU download link.)
This proved to be a bit trickier than I'd hoped, however, as A@H didn't seem to want to install cleanly (either because of issues in A@H itself, or perhaps because of the Xen factor).

After a few failed attempts and a bit of post-installation repair work, I managed to get it going. While troubleshooting the installation, my Googling turned up a lot of other folks interested in A@H on Xen, so I've posted my Xen domU image for download here.

This domU image provides a ready-to-use Asterisk@Home 2.8 installation running on a barebones CentOS 4.2 OS. You should be able to just boot it up and then follow any standard A@H tutorial to configure it. Enjoy!
